The Last Supper Under a Hail of Bullet

The 12ft painting recreated by artist Lorna May Wadsworth, which for a decade hung behind the altar of a country church, will this weekend go on display at a gallery in Sheffield. However, when the painting was unpacked in Graves Gallery, Sheffield a hole was found just to the right of Jesus’ body.

The painting, which portrayed Jesus as the model Tafari Hinds, had up until its unpacking never been scrutinised close enough by church authorities and the artist to notice the hole.

It was confirmed soon after that the damage was in fact a bullet hole.
